Merida gave the new Speeder a slightly slacker head angle. In plain English: the front wheel sits a little further out in front of you. This makes the steering feel far less twitchy at high speeds and gives you way more confidence when you hit loose dirt, railway ballast, or uneven bike paths.
3. Smart comfort engineering
Instead of just relying on the frame to soak up bumps, the bike features an exposed 27.2 mm seat post design. That extra length allows the post to flex naturally under your body weight over bumps, taking the sharp edge off chatter before it hits your lower back.
4. Built to gravel standards
Frame testing standards for city bikes are usually pretty baseline. Merida decided to test the new Speeder against the exact same brutal testing regime as their dedicated gravel race bikes. It is built to take a beating day in and day out.
Work horse by week, adventure bike by weekend
While most people will still buy the Speeder to nail their daily commute or burn through a morning fitness loop, what you can do with it on Saturday morning has expanded dramatically.
With multiple integrated mounting points across the frame, you can set it up however you like:
- The daily commuter: Throw on full-coverage fenders (mudguards) and a rear rack for panniers to keep your work gear dry and off your back.
- The bikepacker: Strap on frame bags, top tube packs, and bottle cages for a lightweight weekend camping trip.

Why Choose the Speeder Over a Drop-Bar Gravel Bike?
