MERIDA just pulled the covers off their completely reworked BIG.NINE and BIG.SEVEN TFS hardtail mountain bikes, and they’re looking seriously dialled for MY2026. If you've been waiting for entry-level bikes that don’t feel like entry-level compromises, this refresh is worth a closer look.
The geometry has seen some solid upgrades, with longer reach numbers, steeper seat tubes and slackened head angles—everything you want for better control and comfort when the trail points downhill. Most models now ship with 120 mm travel forks, so you’ll get more cushioning when the terrain gets rowdy.
The BIG.NINE runs on 29" wheels, ideal for taller riders who want to roll over roots, rocks and weekend detours with ease. The BIG.SEVEN sticks with 27.5", giving shorter riders better fit and more playful handling. And MERIDA haven’t just stopped at wheel size—they’ve fine-tuned handlebar widths and crank lengths across the board, so everything feels more natural straight out of the box.
Tyre clearance has been bumped up, too. Whether you're into big-volume tyres for grip or just want to avoid the dreaded tyre buzz, you'll have more room to work with.
What’s smart is how MERIDA has found that sweet spot—better off-road performance without turning the bike into a full-blown race machine. New riders will find it easy to handle, and experienced riders won’t feel held back.
